Yealimi Noh has year's worst round at just the wrong timeCONCORD, CA—Teen sensation Yealimi Noh has been nothing short of Miss Consistency during her rookie season as a full-time pro on the LPGA Tour and that play put her right in the thick of things entering the final round of the U.S. Women’s Open today in Houston.

Picking just the wrong time, the Concord golfer shot her worst round of the year with a nine over par 80 to slip from a tie for fifth going into the final 18 holes at the Champions Golf Course. Her previous worst round to par was a six over at the Scottish Open while she posted scores of 77 twice among her 56 rounds in 15 tournaments around the world, missing the cut only once.

Noh was even par through three rounds of the U.S. Open and then had a nightmare back nine on rain-delayed Monday, bogeying six holes and tumbling all the way to a tie for 40th.

Final event this week

She will compete in final LPGA event of 2020 this week in Naples, Florida at the CME Group Tour Championship. Following the U.S. Women’s Open, the CME Group Tour Championship field was set to the top 70 players in the Race to the CME Globe points standings and two additional sponsor invitations. Noh is seeded 14th in the standing heading into the this week’s event where  everyone will compete in a 72-hole, no-cut competition

The Race to the CME Globe is a season-long points competition in which LPGA Members accumulate points in every Official LPGA Tournament to gain entry into the season-ending The player who wins the CME Group Tour Championship will be named the “Race to the CME Globe Champion.”
